Newborns in Need is deeply saddened by the tragedy in Moore.  Our  Oklahoma City Chapter will collect newborn items and insure they reach the appropriate areas affected by this tornado. Due to rescue efforts, it is best to send the items directly to the chapter and let them assess the best way to get them to the babies in need.  Diapers, wipes, hygiene items and baby blankets are very much appreciated.
If you wish to send a monetary donation, use our donate now button and mark you donation for Moore, OK.  We will purchase items as requested by agencies in that area.

Welcome to Newborns in Need

Newborns in Need, Inc. (NIN) is a 501(c) 3 charity organized to take care of needy babies. NIN volunteers provide care necessities to agencies and hospitals serving premature, ill or impoverished newborns. Newborns In Need distributes items free of charge to babies in the United States.  Founded upon Christian principles of love and acceptance, ”NIN” has provided essential items without charge to those in need since 1992. We are there for the saddest need of all, providing bereavement items for the one who left the family too soon.

Services Provided: Volunteers provide our Newborn Immediate Need Kits filled with basic necessities for a newborn during the first few weeks of life.  Collecting needed items such as as baby wash, sleepers, diapers, wipes, thermometers and other necessary items, these items are distributed in the local community. Talented hands create warm blankets, afghans and quilts to fill the kits lovingly created by Newborns in Need volunteers. Sadly, so many communities are without Newborns in Need chapters and we need your help.  Don’t  let one baby be cold, wet, hungry or without a safe place to sleep. Everyday our volunteers work tirelessly to find items to meet the needs of our nation’s babies. Start a chapter, collect needed items, or donate funds to keep one baby safe and warm.

Why you are needed: In the United States approximately 2000 babies are born into poverty each day.  Over 540,000 babies are born prematurely each year and for every 1000 babies born, 6 babies lose their fight for life.

WE NEED MORE chapters and donations to meet the ever growing needs of these babies. In 2011 we distributed over 450,000 items and the need continues to soar!
