Greater Grand Rapids, MI Chapter

Who do we serve?

The Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan Chapter currently concentrates its efforts on a few specific areas of need, but our vision is that as our group grows, so will our ability to address a wider range of needs in the area.

In Holland, we donate to Holland Community Hospital, where our seamstresses provide burial layettes consisting of a gown, bonnet, and afghan in sizes ranging from less than 1# thru full-term newborn. We also donate large newborn afghans, blankets, booties, and new baby clothing to their Growth Connections program, to be given to babies going home to families in need. Donations of new or gently used clothing, and new supplies such as bottles and pacifiers go to Lakeshore Pregnancy Center.

In Grand Rapids, we donate to DeVos Children’s Hospital at Spectrum Health’s Butterworth Campus. Over 1000 babies go thru the Neonatal ICU at DeVos Children’s Hospital every year, with families coming from all across Michigan to receive specialized care, some staying for many months. For them, we sew t-shirts, dresses, and gowns in sizes as small as 2#, that are specially designed to open across the shoulder as well as down the front, making it as easy as possible for baby to be dressed, as well as accommodating any i.v.’s or monitors baby may require

Dear Newborns In Need,
Just a quick note to thank you for the beautiful clothing you have been providing for the precious little babies in the Neonatal ICU. It means so much to the parents when people care so very much to share their wonderful gifts and talents with their little ones! As you can tell when you stop up here, they are definitely being used—the bins gradually become less full—and many lives have been touched!
Thank You Again & God’s Blessings,
Judy Levick, Neo Parent-to-Parent
