HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Sew, crochet, knit or donate baby items to the chapter nearest you. New chapters are being developed every month. Don’t see your state listed? Could you start a chapter? See our guidelines. If not, revisit periodically and check for new chapters in our new Chapter Listing.
Donate sewing notions, fabric, and patterns to be used for the benefit of the sick and needy premature and newborn babies. Supplies are greatly appreciated.
Start a chapter in your area to sew baby clothing, quilts, blankets, toys and much needed other items. We believe in communities helping their own. Donation boxes are received on a regular basis filled with donations of finished goods and supplies, and are shipped directly to those needing them or shipped to chapters to distribute in their area. With the support of caring people all around the world, we can make a difference in the lives of God's tiniest children.
Donate much needed funds. If you don't sew, but really want to help, your donation of money is much needed to provide shipping, stamps, paper, and sewing supplies that are not donated. We rely on donations from people who really care and want to make a difference. It is also nice to know, in a world filled with greed and doubt, that there are those willing to help.
Get your school students involved. Many teachers involve their students in projects that benefit the sick and needy and send the finished products to us. We send a thank you letter that can be photocopied and put in each child's portfolio. Not only is the teacher teaching sewing skills, but he/she is teaching the children (or youth) to love their fellow man and help where help is needed.
Coordinate a baby item drive. Small stuffed animals, rattles, clothing, sleepers; anything a newborn baby would need. Send to your nearest Chapter or contact nationaloffice@newbornsinneed.org for additional shipping locations.
Get credit for community service work if you have been assigned community service work. Make a baby quilt or two, collect sewing supplies and send them, or gather used toys and clothing and ship them. Write down how many service hours it took you and we will give you a letter indicating your service efforts. Please contact us first to have your community service authorized.
Use your knitting, tatting, and crocheting talents to make much needed baby clothing and bedding. Some patterns are available on our web site.
Spread the word by distributing flyers and/or talking to your church group. Many groups have been started by someone who heard about the great need for assistance for sick and needy babies and families from a caring person like yourself.
Are you a Wal Mart employee? You can help the babies through the Volunteerism Always Pays Program, click here for more information. Wal Mart will donate $250 every six months for every 25 hours an employee donates to Newborns in Need - make YOUR time count for the babies! Sign up now and encourage others to do so.
We're sure you have many more ideas that can help benefit God's tiniest children and needy families. We will be looking forward to your suggestions and results of your efforts. Email us and let us know what YOUR ideas are to help the children and how YOU will be helping.
We encourage you to get involved. YOU might be the one who makes the difference in the life of a tiny child.
