Supplies:

  • · Felt or similar surface to work on (beads are easier to see and control on fabric surface
  • · very thin elastic string (cut to 10 inch lengths)
  • · very small crimping beads or crimping tubes
  • · beading needles
  • · small, lightweight charms
  • · jump rings
  • · assorted beads
  • · needle nose pliers or jewelry tools
  • · length guide (kits provide a length guide ... if there is no length kit, use 1.5 inch, 2 inch, 2.5 inch or 3 inch increments to make bracelets
  • Instructions
  • Place selected assortment of beads onto felt work area
  • Separate out a jump ring and a charm. Attach charm to jump ring, close the jump ring and set aside. (You will string the charm through the jump ring after you arrange the jewelry design). * If using letters, create word with all letters in the proper direction and set aside.
  • Arrange beads as desired until desired length is reached. Insert charm or letter beads as desired into the arrangement.
  • Knot one end of elastic and thread the other end through the beading needle.
  • Using the needle, string beads onto elastic in the order they are arranged.
  • Slide entire arrangement of beads toward center of elastic and clip off the knot.
  • One at a time, pass both ends of elastic through the crimping bead/tube from opposite directions (both ends of elastic must pass through bead/tube parallel to each other).
  • Pull both ends of elastic to tighten bracelet to desired length.
  • Close the crimping bead/tube with pliers or jewelry tool and trim off excess elastic.
  • Admire your work!
