Meeting Notes from July 17, 2004

President Ruth Hoover opened our meeting with a prayer.

Welcome to our newest volunteer, Karen Kresyman, whom we met at Ballwin Days.  Our chapter helped Karen’s grandson when he was in the NICU. We even got a chance to meet her grandson and his parents! We love seeing the babies we serve!

Ruth showed the Lee Middleton Dolls "Precious in Blue" and "Jesus Loves Me" to the group.

With the help of some members at July's meeting we were able to sell $255.00 worth of rulers, pencils, bookmarks and emery boards with free chances to win the doll. Tess Goskie drew the name of Sarah Ingram of St. Clair, MO.  Sarah works for the same company as Deb Goskie, one of our volunteers. Ruth will call the winner and Deb will deliver the doll!

Ruth and Ervell attended the Old Newsboy Day meeting. Elaine Pontious will help Ruth in filling out the grant paperwork. We may be able to get a $3,000 grant or some portion there of Ruth showed the Hershall's Hat Maker, a very unique item that helps a person to create hats that look like they are knitted.
