Meeting Notes from January 20, 2007 President Ruth Hoover welcomed all to our meeting with an opening prayer, as we start another year of serving God’s precious babies! CONVENTION 2007: The annual Newborns in Need Convention will be held on May 3-5 in Bolivar, MO. Deadline to register is March 1. Bolivar is about 25-30 miles North of Springfield, MO. See more information at www.newbornsinneed.org PRESS: Newborns in Need was mentioned recently in the Press Journal as one of the two charities that Welcome Wagon helped. Each year, they choose two charities to help, and they chose Newborns in Need this past year. SHOW AND SHARE: Joyce Roeder showed the tiny boy outfits that she had made for bereavement. There was a tiny little vest on one, and another one had a tie. Joann Karnowski showed the squares that she had received at a previous meeting. The plan was to put them all together into an afghan, but they didn’t fit together. So she had to remake them to get them to work. Deb Goskie showed two darling gift sets, one for a boy, one for a girl, that her friend Carrie Jackson had made. YARN UPDATE: Much of the yarn that we received from Lola Peressin’s sister was wool, and was given to a lady who coordinates some crochet groups, as well as teaches crochet classes. Some of the members of these groups make lapghans for hospitals. The remaining acrylic yarn will be available at the next meeting. CURRENT NEEDS: Hand ‘n Hand Pregnancy Help Center needs over the counter cold medicines, pain relievers, and thermometers. They also need changing pads and burp cloths. Tri-County Birthright had empty shelves when Dirk Goskie made the December delivery. They were thrilled with the items he brought. SPECIAL THANKS TO:
