Meeting Notes from May 19, 2007 President Ruth Hoover welcomed all to our meeting with an opening prayer. A special welcome to new members and visitors, Mary Anne DiLisio, Maureen Dillard, and Norma Endraske. We have been blessed with such wonderful contributions! A Girl Scout Brownie Troop from Arnold led by Mary Abeln made some beautiful fleece blankets. A group from Ballwin, who make prayer shawls in the Winter, made some lovely afghans for us. They also make hats for the St. Luke’s babies. Joann Allman made 52 pairs of beautiful booties. We also received a check for $500.00 from Sam’s Club. Our Community certainly supports us. CONVENTION 2007: The 2007 Convention in Bolivar, MO was wonderful! Seven Arch Chapter members attended: Ruth Hoover, Joann Karnowski, Susan Rizzo, Pat Narup, Clem Roeder, Judy Giovanoni, and Carol Svirha, whose husband attended the dinner with her on Friday night. There were several classes and demonstrations. One class was how to crochet edging around a fleece blanket, which Joann Karnowski showed at the May meeting. A sample and the tool used to create holes in the fleece were passed around. Pat Narup won a lovely quilt at the Convention. Patterns from the Convention were shown. Fabric used as decoration at the Convention could be purchased, and is suitable for Christmas stockings |
