Meeting Notes from September 15, 2007

President Ruth Hoover welcomed all to our meeting with an opening prayer. Welcome to new volunteers Loretta Schepp and Maureen Dillard!

Due to recent donations from our Community, we have been able to purchase diapers, wipes, formula, and baby bottles to distribute to the pregnancy centers we serve. We are also able to buy more yarn and fabric to make items for the babies.

A LOSS…

Our Chapter mourns the loss of long-time volunteer, Carol Riemer, who died on September 24. Carol was kind and loving, and always had a smile. She will be missed.

EVENTS:

The Round Bobbin Quilting & Sewing Expo was held at the St. Charles Convention Center September 21-23. It was a wonderful display of quilts, craft items, and sewing machines. We received some donations, and shared information with potential volunteers. Several people completed items that we had cut out at the September Meeting. Thanks to all our volunteers! Remember to record your hours and turn them in at the next meeting.

At the August meeting, several members brought portable sewing machines, and we made Memory Envelopes for St. John’s Mercy Heartprints.
