Meeting Notes from August 18, 2007

President Ruth Hoover welcomed all to our meeting with an opening prayer. Welcome to new volunteers Judy Grisham and Sally Hogan!

Due to recent donations from our Community, we have been able to purchase diapers, wipes, formula, and baby bottles to distribute to the pregnancy centers we serve. We are also able to buy more yarn and fabric to make items for the babies.

EVENTS:

We will be participating in the Round Bobbin Quilting & Sewing Expo, held at the St. Charles Convention Center September 21-23. If you did not sign up at the August meeting and want to participate, for volunteers to pass out items for participants to sew, and NIN information, sign up at the September meeting. We will cut out items for the event at the September meeting, which is one week before the Expo. Note: You must be on the sign up list for NIN workers; otherwise there is an admission charge. Don’t worry if you are not a sewer. Our function is to inform participants about Newborns in Need, and we can all do that! We will have some of our items on display, so Expo participants can see what we make.

At the August meeting, several members brought portable sewing machines, and we made Memory Envelopes for St. John’s Mercy Heartprints.
