Our next meeting will be Saturday, June 9, from 9 am until noon.  We will have a display as well as patterns and demos of the Convention Crafts.   It was so         inspiring to meet and share ideas with so many other women that are all working toward the same goal.  Please come for all or part of our meeting and feel free to bring a  project to working on.  I hope to see YOU!

What if Newborns in Need earned a penny every time you searched the internet?

Well, now we can!  GoodSearch.com is a new search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate.  You use it just as you would any search engine, and it’s powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results.  Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Newborns in Need as the charity you want to support, you can even download a goodsearch toolbar to help make the searching easier. Just 500 of us searching four times a day will raise about $7,300 without anyone spending a dime!  This will help the home office in Houston, Mo., and they in turn provide support for us.  Thank you in advance for your help!

At the May meeting we celebrated our first birthday with games, food, presents, prizes and laughter.  We also had the privilege of welcoming 5 new members!  In our first year we have grown from our first 9 volunteers to 29.  It was a very       productive first year with our donations of 1,242 items at a value of $3,453 going to 9 agencies.   That averages about 100 items a month going into our community.  Thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers who have helped make this possible.  We look forward many more happy birthdays together with each of you.
