2008 Convention
 2 weeks away!!!

At last all the planning and work of our volunteers is coming to fruition. The Convention set-up is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 9:00AM. We hope to be finished by Noon. Ann Marie will be doing a walk through with the staff before then. We won’t have to move tables (thank goodness!).

This year all classes will be held on the main floor. On Wednesday, teachers will be able to get into their classrooms and arrange them as they wish.  We are so excited that all classes will be “hands on”. Everyone will have projects (in progress or completed) to take home.

Registration begins at 9:00 AM Thursday. Volunteers helping with set-up may pick up registration materials on Wednesday. The rest are asked to stop in and pick up their materials on Thursday.

Everyone attending the Convention will find some really nice surprises in their packets.

Some out-of-town early arrivals might want to shop or visit the Longaberger Homestead, etc., and want some assistance in finding various places of interest. Anyone willing to escort them, if needed, would be most welcome.

Thanks to Mary Hoffman of Washington and the National Office we have some really great donations. Mary contacted 10 companies and received items from 5 of them.

As of today 71 ladies are registered. 32 people are staying at the Retreat Center.

We are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new friends.

2008 NIN Convention
 April 24 - 26

New Ohio Chapter

Welcome to Ginny Miller, President of the Gr. Lynchburg, OH Chapter. We will all get a chance to meet Ginny at the Convention. Be sure to look her up and say “hi”.

Welcome New Members

Member, Gail Denton, brought her friend, Teresa Jakob to our meeting. Teresa is joining our Chapter. She is a retired teacher/librarian. She came to our area in 1999. She has taught Pre-K through college. Presently Teresa is a substitute teacher at Denison University. Teresa loves to crochet. She is planning to attend the Convention. Welcome, Teresa – we’re so glad to have you in our group.

For many years Jackie Maltbie was a member of Grandma Ev’s Chapter, which closed due to Grandma’s ill health. Since the Chapter closed, Jackie has worked in her area - on her own. Recently, Ann Marie asked her to join our chapter. She will be attending the Convention as a registered member of the Greater Newark, OH Chapter! Though a member of our Chapter, Jackie will still be helping babies in her area.

Memory Book

Member, Carolyn Hearing will be acting as our photographer/historian during the Convention. She will be taking pictures each day. Carolyn will process the pictures and add journaling for a Convention Memory Book. She has already completed a Chapter Memory Book to show as a sample. Carolyn will also be available to share her passion for preserving memories with anyone who is interested.
