Caps for Our Soldiers
A couple of months ago, Chapter member and nurse, Marty Rupp told members about a project of crocheting or knitting caps for the soldiers fighting in Iraq. The caps were to be worn under their helmets. The caps were placed in the soldiers’ Christmas stockings. 10,000 caps, sewn by people all over the country, were given to the soldiers at Christmas!!!
The project is ongoing. If you are interested in helping with the cap project, the pattern is on the Internet or you can get it from Ann Marie. The caps are to be sewn in dark colors – black, navy or brown.
Member, Jann Vasbinder, has sent the pattern to her home in Canada. A group there is making and sending the caps to Afghanistan, where the Canadian soldiers are stationed.
