WELCOME

We had two new members/guests with us at our meeting. Chapter member, Tina Diederen brought her friend Carol Link. Carol brings a lot of talent to our chapter. She sews, crochets, and quilts. Members Joan and Jerry Lawson also brought a friend – 4 year-old Tessa. Tessa’s family and the Lawson’s are friends. Welcome Carol and Tessa – we’re so glad you joined us.

Update concerning Herschel

Ann Marie received info from Elsie Johnson (Herschel’s daughter-in-law) concerning Herschel. He is moving to a facility that will be near Elsie and Tom, so they can see him every day. He was most appreciative of the expressions of sympathy from our members. Elsie receives our newsletters, etc. She will read these to Herschel, to keep him updated on our activities

Disappointing Quality

After receiving handmade items from the Delaware Youth Services, Ann Marie found them to be of very poor quality - not up to NIN standards. She emailed the person in charge and explained that unfortunately we would be unable to accept items in the future. This may seem a little harsh, but we can only donate items of good quality for our babies.

LATEST ON THE CONVENTION

We are moving forward with the Convention. So far we only have three paid registrations. Ann Marie has sent a second notice to Chapter presidents, asking them to “drum up” interest in coming. Our cut-off date is March 1. If, at that time, there are not enough registrations, we will decide our next move. Stay tuned!!!!

On the Road – Again!

Ann Marie received a phone call from Penny Slater of the Hebron Christian Church concerning donations to NIN. Ann Marie will be speaking to the group on Tuesday. She will take samples to show what we make for the babies. Ann Marie will also invite the members to come to future meetings.

Yards of Fleece = 30 Blankets

Nurses from Knox Community Hospital recently donated several skeins of yarn and yards of fleece. Ann Marie serged the fleece into 30 blankets. Carol Vasbinder will take them to the Hospital. Now it is up to us to turn the yarn into blankets, hats and booties.
