New Challenge:

The President's Challenge for this quarter is the Infant Security Ribbons. They are really simple to make and the hospital that has requested them needs lots and lots of them! It is basically a piece of ribbon with velcro sewn on each end on opposite sides so that it can be formed into a circle. They use these to hold the tubes and wires together so the babies will not get tangled in them. They need us to use the 7/8" wide grosgrain ribbon and you cut it 7" long. The velcro is 3/4" wide and you cut it about an inch long. The ones that we have been making we have put some Fray Block on each end of the ribbon to keep it from unraveling. After you have the ribbon cut you sew or glue one part of the velcro on one end and then turn the ribbon over and sew or glue the other part of the velcro on the back side of the opposite end. You can use liquid stitch to glue the velcro.

Peggy has posted some pictures of these in the photo section at yahoogroups. They are in an album called Hospital Request. If you would like to help us make these and have any questions please feel free to email us.

Thank you for all that all of you do for the babies!
