Just thought I would share with you that Cindy and I will be taking our first delivery to OSU Medical Center on Saturday afternoon. This is another exciting milestone for us over here on the northeastern side of Oklahoma. I spoke with the head NICU nurse last night and they deliver about 120 babies a month, in total. This is way more than I thought. But they do take more poverty patents than any other hospital in Tulsa so I knew their need would be greater in the long run. We started with a delivery in November to St. Francis Hospital and were rewarded with a wonderful thank you letter. I took stockings to them in December, And they didn't have any other needs at that time. They have about 40 beds in NICU and 40 beds in well baby. I took them a lot of things for that first delivery. I am sure towards the end of the month in January we will be taking more. I have also contacted a pregnancy crisis center that is very excited about getting some donations from us. They have two locations in Tulsa, and work on strictly a donations based program, as far as things for mothers to be and new mothers. We have had a pretty exciting last couple of months over here on the Eastern side of the state and I am so happy to be able to serve some of these locations. It’s wonderful to see so many people working and donating not only their time but beautiful baby things for Gods tiniest children. We are adding new volunteers every month, which in itself is great. So don't forget to talk about NIN to everyone you know. And it doesn't have to be for sewing, crocheting or making things by hand, there is always something that others can provide to help the babies! EBay and garage sales can provide some wonderful baby things! No sewing required! Our board members have been doing a wonderful job. Even though I know it’s a little overwhelming at times…a big thank you to them for all their extra hard work. This is including our President Amy Ford. She has been instrumental in our growth! Plus all the wonderful donations she has brought in from companies. Everyone Keep up the good work in the coming year! A big thanks and hugs Jo Volunteer Coordinator |
