Thank You to our Wonderful NIN Volunteers

Jerenda Ford, NICP Liaison at St. Joseph’s Hospital, wrote: “Thanks so much for stopping in yesterday with the beautiful blankets and clothing. We are having so many babies in and out of here that at times it’s hard to keep up, but I can always count on having blankets and beautiful clothing from Newborns in Need. Your group is awesome. We truly do appreciate you and yours. I was so glad that one of our Mom’s was willing to take you back to see her baby. She was so excited to meet you guys. When you left I took one of the blankets that you delivered and gave it to her baby. Beings as she met you and had you come back, I wanted her to have a blanket out of that delivery. She cried when I gave it to her. She said, ‘Oh, this is so special! Thank you so much’.  Again, thanks for all you do. We love you!”

We also received a thank-you from Vicky Vandenheuvel, R.N. at Chandler Regional Hospital, for the “recent donation of newborn kits, Christmas layettes, incubator blankets, Santa hats, afghans and fleece blankets.  We appreciate every little piece. Thank you again for the time and efforts placed into this. It truly makes a difference.” She also thanked Becky Brimhall for making the delivery!

Diane Bishop, Maricopa Health Foundation Executive Director, sent two letters listing the items we donated to Maricopa Medical Center. She closed with, “thank you for your kind and generous support of the infants at Maricopa Medical Center.”

Becky Bell, RN at Maricopa Medical Center, told us when we brought the Valentine’s donations that a nurse had just come to see if they had any Valentine linens. Becky replied, “They are on their way!” They were so happy to receive everything. Becky wrote that same day: “Thank you again for your organization’s generosity. Our unit looks very loving with the Valentine quilts. I wanted to let you know, we are doing well on all sizes of burial garments. In the future we will need term newborn burial sets.  We are doing good on the kangaroo care blankets. We will probably need more in May. We can always use the quilts that cover the isolettes and quilts the size of a receiving blanket (these are great in plain colors also). Once the cold season passes, we will need single layered car seat blankets, instead of the crocheted or double layered quilts. We go through the term (full size) newborn kits on average of 20 a day, so we can never have too many. The term newborn hats are always needed also. Forgive me if I am asking for too much, please know that I so appreciate all you do for us…Thank you again.”

(WE so appreciate it when the hospitals and various groups tell us what they need – it helps all of us!  Thank-YOU, Becky!)

We received a letter from Steven Schnall, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation Vice President, thanking us for the “generous gift” (then listed our last donation to PCH). “Your generous investment is, literally, the gift of a lifetime for thousands of children and families.”

Staci Glass, from Hacienda Healthcare (affiliate of Los Niņos), wrote: “On behalf of the children we serve, we wish to express a special thank you for your recent, generous donation!  We are so appreciative to have your wonderful support! Thank-you again for helping us help the children! You are making a difference in the lives of many of Arizona’s infants, children, and young adults. We are so blessed to have your continued friendship and support!”
