PRESIDENTS MESSAGE:

Well, we are on our way to spring. I know you all must be as anxious as I am, I would like to drive over next week and see the jonquils poking out of the ground.  We had a good month: delivered 416 items at a worth of $3,205.35 to 20 locations. We delivered to 2 individuals. There were 448 items delivered to our chapter meeting in January with a total of 22 volunteers who put in 581 hours. Remember to include any time you put in outside of our meeting such as deliveries, etc. Our take from the market booth for November and December were disappointing. The total was only $37.65. We did have quite a bit going out but I guess they were small items. With spring coming, there should be some flea market items finding their way to our booth. Violet called me today and said she had invited Toni Coombs, a new nurse at the Texas County Health Dept.  When Violet made her delivery, Ms. Coombs was really interested in our group. She will come during our lunch hour and get acquainted with our group. I received several nice cards from people we delivered to.  They were all so appreciative.  A common comment was how excited they were to open the boxes and see the lovely things. The next meeting is February 27, 2007. Please bring sewing machines, sergers, needles, pins, patterns, scissors, items that you made. A dish to share at noon. A neighbor or a friend. We meet at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, on hwy E, at 9:00 a.m.. to get there take hwy 63 north out of Houston, go past Empire gas propane place. Take the next street, which is hwy E turn left and it’s on the corner.
