PRESIDENTS MESSAGE:
Hi, all: Isn’t lovely weather. I imagine you are out enjoying the sunshine and flowers. Not too much I hope, so you have some time to sew for our babies. You did well again. We delivered to 10 locations, 17 volunteers making this happen with a total of 598 hours. Our deliveries consisted of 229 items at a value of $1,471.55. The total from our flea market booth for March and most of April was $53.70 which is a little better. We do need to do more. As we mentioned at our last chapter meeting we aren’t really making expenses and we need help from all of you.
Violet, Jean Dawson and myself attended the convention in Bolivar. It was enjoyable and they had some good information for us. One topic was obtaining grants and I’m going to see if I can pursue this. It would hep immensely if any of you had an idea, we could really use the help. If someone approaches you, wants to help and doesn’t sew, explain we also need financial support. The donations must be shipped to at least 5 of the areas and that takes quite a bit of money, plus money for the storage unit and supplies.
I have revised the price list we use for our baby items. I have added some things that National had on their list. Will have them to use at our next meeting.
As I have said before I really appreciate all each of you do. WE ARE SMALL IN NUMBER but still produce a large number of items for our babies. You should be proud. Jeanne
