In Full Swing!

 

                     

           Hello again from Maryland! It has been rather warm here so far this summer, but it hasn’t slowed us or our work down very much. We haven’t gotten much rain either so we are concerned about our fall colors. However, we find lots of colors in our fabrics and yarns.

 

             We continue to deliver preemie layettes, full-term layette sets and sadly, burial layettes.  Our hospitals are most appreciative of everything we do. We are receiving all sorts of donations from monetary to fabric to new & gently used clothing. It seems anytime we really need something it suddenly arrives. We are so thankful for all who have generously donated to the Southern Maryland Chapter.

            

             A special thank you to Didi DHondt. Her continued support of our chapter is amazing! She has given tirelessly to our chapter for the last few years. Didi has even gotten her mom, Polly Digges to knit hats for us.  Thank you so much, Didi and Polly! Many hugs and much love to both of you!

 

             We were unable to make it to the convention this year and we missed seeing everyone! Glad to hear everyone had a great time. We are hoping to make Ohio in 2008. We look forward to seeing everybody!

Lately…

             We did a “double up” delivery of burial items to one of our hospitals. Since the coordinator will be out of town on a family vacation during our regular delivery time in July, we had to think and work a little faster than we normally would. So we delivered twice as many for the month of June and will skip the month of July. We can’t let any of those Angels in need do with out.  We will still make a regular delivery of full-term layettes.

 

             We have been working on our outfits for fall and winter. Gotta’ love those 5 minute serged knit-material pants! We are hoping to have enough done to get us through April. We are looking forward to the big fabric sales after Thanksgiving. What an excuse to go shopping!
